A tack welder is a skilled professional responsible for performing tack welding in various manufacturing, construction, and fabrication settings. Tack welding involves creating temporary welds to hold metal pieces in place before the final welding process is completed. These initial welds are essential for maintaining alignment and ensuring accuracy in the final product.
Job Descriptions

Tack Welding: Perform tack welds on metal components using different welding techniques, such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), or Stick welding, based on the project's requirements.

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand the welding requirements and correctly position the metal pieces for tack welding.

Material Preparation: Prepare the metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, or chamfering to ensure proper adhesion during the tack welding process.

Welding Equipment Setup: Set up and adjust welding equipment, including welding machines, gas cylinders, and torches, to achieve the desired tack welds' quality and strength.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety guidelines and regulations while operating welding equipment and handling hot materials to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Inspection: Inspect tack welds for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as necessary.

Welding Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.

- Willingness to Relocate: Candidates must be open to relocating to Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria, as the job is based in that location.
- Welding Knowledge: Welder should possess a foundational understanding of welding either through formal training or previous experience working in reputable companies within the related field.
- Oil and Gas Experience: Supervisors should have at least some experience in the operations of the oil and gas industry. This experience will contribute to their ability to effectively oversee rigging activities within this sector.
