The supervisor oversees rigging operations, ensuring safety compliance, efficient scheduling, and quality work. They coordinate with teams, provide guidance to riggers, maintain equipment, and handle communication with stakeholders. Additionally, they focus on training, documentation, and problem-solving to ensure smooth workflow and project success.
Job Descriptions
- Planning and organizing: Develop daily work schedules, assign tasks to riggers, and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently. Coordinate with other departments or teams to plan for upcoming projects or maintenance work.
- Safety management: Ensure that all rigging operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety meetings, training, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures. Promote a culture of safety awareness among the riggers.
- Monitoring progress: Supervise the rigging operations to ensure they are progressing according to schedule. Regularly check on the work being done, provide guidance and support to the riggers, and address any issues or concerns that may arise during the process.
- Quality control: Ensure that rigging tasks are carried out accurately and meet the required standards. Conduct inspections of rigging equipment and materials to verify their suitability and condition. Maintain records of inspections and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of rigging tools.
- Communication and coordination: Serve as a liaison between the rigging team and other departments or stakeholders. Communicate project updates, requirements, and any changes in plans or procedures. Coordinate with equipment operators, engineers, and other supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any conflicts or challenges that may arise.
- Training and development: Identify the training needs of the rigging team and provide appropriate training programs or opportunities for skill enhancement. Mentor and coach the riggers, providing guidance and feedback to improve their performance and promote professional growth.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, including work progress, materials used, incidents, and any safety or quality concerns. Prepare reports and submit them to higher management as required.
- Problem-solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise during rigging operations. Analyze problems, propose solutions, and make decisions in a timely manner to minimize disruptions and maintain productivity.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to Relocate: Candidates must be open to relocating to Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria, as the job is based in that location.
- Education: Supervisors must have a minimum of an OND (Ordinary National Diploma) qualification.
- Oil and Gas Experience: Supervisors should have at least some experience in the operations of the oil and gas industry. This experience will contribute to their ability to effectively oversee rigging activities within this sector.
